- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, grated
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Cooked rice (white or brown)
- Optional: diced bell peppers or carrots
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add oil. Sauté minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned (about 5 minutes).
- Pour in soy sauce and sprinkle brown sugar over the beef. Stir well and let simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Drizzle sesame oil before removing from heat and stir in sliced green onions, reserving some for garnish.
- Serve the mixture over bowls of cooked rice and top with additional green onions or your favorite veggies.
