  • 1/2 cup espresso or strong coffee (cooled)
  • Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, beat mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, lemon juice, and zest with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  3. Quickly dip ladyfingers into the cooled espresso one at a time; avoid soaking them too long.
  4. Lay half of the dipped ladyfingers in a rectangular dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over them evenly.
  5. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining cream mixture on top.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
