Sweet and sour chicken (halal) is a vibrant and delicious dish, blending tender chicken with a tangy sauce for a family-friendly meal that delights every palate.


Ingredients

  • 34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup bell peppers (red, yellow, or green)
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and chop bell peppers and onion.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté chicken until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and onion; cook until fragrant (about 1 minute). Stir in bell peppers and pineapple chunks.
  4. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, cornstarch, and water; whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour the sauce over the chicken mixture in the skillet. Stir frequently until the sauce thickens (about 3-5 minutes).
