Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  4. Stuff each hollowed-out bell pepper with the filling until overflowing.
  5. Place stuffed peppers upright in a baking dish filled with water. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese if using, and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes until golden.
